RESILIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY IN HOSTING EVENTS – ONLINE WORKSHOP
September 12 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm CEST

Climate crises, extinction of species, wars and burnouts – all of these things have been warning us that we cannot go on living and acting in the way we have been until now. A good and sustainable life for all needs different ways of acting, learning, and treating ourselves, others and nature. As facilitators, we can contribute to fostering resilience and sustainable development: through our attitude, concrete practices and methods.
In this interactive and hands-on thematic workshop we will introduce you to the four dimensions of sustainable development (ecologic, social, cultural and economic), as well as to an up-to-date understanding of sustainable development, resilience and its connections. You will learn how to incorporate sustainability in your events and explore how to foster sustainable acting among participants. We will introduce you to the concept of hosting yourself and others and support you on the way to become a more sustainable and resilient facilitator.
This workshop consists of two three-hour-long sessions. It combines the components of impulse, analysis, group counseling and toolbox sharing. It is designed for practitioners, academics, civil society or public actors, who are interested in exploring sustainable and resilient approaches applicable to the fields of their work. The sessions will be balanced by stages of input, practical application, sharing, designing and transition to real life. We aim at embracing the knowledge in the room and supporting participants in creating personalized approaches for their fields of work.
This workshop covers:
- deep understanding of concepts of sustainable development and resilience
- interrelation between sustainability and resilience
- practical application of both concepts
- sustainability and resilience analysis of particular cases provided by participants
- designing toolbox/ approaches for supporting sustainability and resilience
- transmitting these approaches to the daily life and facilitation practice
